Cuba '14

Hello everyone, I hope you're living life to the fullest and having the best summer of your life! I took a trip to Cuba a few weeks ago and I'm still reminiscing about it right now. It was definitely nice to have a little break from everything I've been up to lately. If we're already friends on instagram (@msdoreena) then you've seen some of the pictures I posted.

My summer so far has been slightly hectic (hence, my much needed trip to Cuba to pretty much de-stress) studying for this exam I had been dreading to write since graduating. Thanks to God, I finally got the courage to write it and I passed, God is good! Next on the agenda is to job hunt for that dream job; I'm excited and nervous at the same time but I know it'll all work out by God's grace.

I know you're also wondering why there's no more style posts, welp...
I'm in search of THE perfect camera at this moment, possibly trade in my old one and add on a few bucks to get me a much better one with even better lenses. I'm actively working on this so I hope you bear with me on this one.

Purple lips

Hello guys, I hope you're having a wonderful month. I wore my favorite caramel coat to have dinner and catch up with a friend of mine a few weeks ago. I've had this coat for quite a while and i'm pretty sure you're used to seeing it by now. I got mail from a reader asking to purchase it off me but until I'm able to find another, this is not leaving my closet anytime soon. With that said, right after this blog post I will be uploading items ready for purchase on the 'Shop my Closet' tab of this blog.

This hair install was my first brazillian hair install and I loved every part of it. I had it in for two months and the hair still felt like new. The length of the hair varied between 22-16inches and if you're looking for some to purchase, contact me for a discounted quote.

This lipstick has turned out to be so much fun to wear. The hesitation to try it out was huge but eventually caved. It's a mix of the 'wet n wild' 919B (vamp it up/style vamp) and 'cover girl' TrueShine 485 (watermelon shine).

Snow behind me...

Hey guys, I hope the new year is treating you well. So I mentioned in the last post that it would be cute to turn that summer look into somewhat of a winter look with a leather jacket and a bootie...and this is it. I did forget to put on my black unity scarf to finish off the look...that's what happens when one (me) fails to plan the outfit ahead of time, smh.

..it was freezing out there and no i'm not used to the crazy Canadian winter just yet. We actually had a polar vortex experience last week...not cool.

All white + skin

Hello guys, so I was searching through my many photos for posting and found these shots we took in the summer in much warmer and happier times near Square One (I'm sure most of my 'Toronto-nian' readers know exactly where that is). This chiffon dress was purchased on eBay (which has some of the cutest pieces by the way) and its turned out to be one of my go-to dresses. The dress has the 'winter white' thing going on already so I might as well create a winter look with it by dawning some fleece lined tights (you can find most of those at the store Ardenes by the way) and booties with a very warm leather jacket and tadaa... a winter look has been created!

Montreal trip Part 1

Hello guys, so over the weekend a few friends and I took a quick trip to Montreal. We literally had the best time just catching up on what everyone has been up to since graduation. Montreal is one cool place and we had a good time. Sadly, I was having camera issues and to worsen the situation, the battery died on the first day during our sightseeing at the Biodome, smh. I still managed to take a few shots with my friend's phone, so excuse the poor quality of the photos.

...on the way to the "Chinese garden of light" at the Biodome, it was the most beautiful scene I've ever explored.

It sucks that the camera couldn't really capture the night scene behind me here but it was beautiful!

Lately...

Hello lovelies!! So I've been M.I.A. (missing in action) for a little while now and there's no excuse for this but the laptop broke down :(. Sounds like I'm still making up excuses for my absence but I'm back!!! Some exciting things happening in my life right now and I wish I could type them all out right now but I'm going to save you all the typing mistakes waiting to happen. Summer Dress

Hello guys, its been quite the week out here in Toronto. We had this big rain storm out here leaving our  city all flooded and blacked out with no power but by God's grace everything is settling down. 

On a lighter note, I finally caved and pretty much texturized my hair a little bit because going all natural is not the easiest thing to do. Stay strong, all my natural sisters!!
