HOHF Annual Charity fashion show : Looking for fashion designers

Hello guys, I hope you're doing great in in this extremely cold weather. Today i'm introducing you to this wonderful organization called Hands of a Hero Foundation. It is a registered non-profit organization in Canada and Ghana that concentrates on transforming the lives of less fortunate children. Hands of a Hero Foundation’s mission is to support less fortunate children in Canada and Ghana by empowering, mentoring, educating and improving their standard living conditions. The ultimate aim is to create awareness, raise funds, and implement programs to help eliminate poverty among children.We hope to make a difference in the lives of children by giving them hope for a brighter future. 

Hands of a Hero Foundation is currently looking for upcoming/ emerging fashion designers and established designers from a diverse realm of fashion backgrounds, who are willing to showcase their talents at our Annual Charity fashion show : Fashion against Poverty. This event will be taking place on Saturday, May 04, at Creatures Creating Art Gallery. Oscars 2013 Red Carpet Trends...

The 2013 oscars was last night and if you're anything like me, the only thing I look forward to during these award ceremonies is the red carpet fashion and trends. Congratulations to the winners though, especially to Ben Affleck for best picture, he gave an incredible speech and it was inspiring just to see how emotional he got. On the red carpet, the major trends and colours I noticed were: metallics, off-whites, reds, whites, and navy. My favourite look of the night was Charlize Theron, she looked amazing from the short haircut to the gorgeous peplum inspired Dior gown.

Tracee-Ellis Ross

 Girlfriends...oh how I miss that show, I still get excited when I see the marathon episodes on TV. Well, I think Tracee-Ellis Ross has the kind of hair that most African-American women dream of having, it's just gorgeous. She definitely inspires me to let-go of my curling and flat irons in order to just let my hair breathe. Anybody who knows me know that I love my hair extensions and when I have them in, I want and NEED them to blend well with my hair; however, that requires using a LOT of heat to achieve the kind of looks I go for. And so for the past month and a half, I have been on a "no heat for a month" ride to just let go of all the heat in order to take some time to treat my hair to prevent any breakage. I also let go of all the relaxers and I haven't used any since the month of July, yay me!! I don't know about going completely natural, but I guess we'll see.

Wrapped in Merino

The Woolmark Company is giving wool lovers the chance to make history by setting a new world record for the World’s Longest Social Scarf. Launching on Tuesday 29th of May, The Woolmark Company’s ‘Wrapped in Merino’ campaign which runs on a microsite and on the We Love Wool community, aims to connect people in social media as they collaboratively design a giant virtual scarf. Each participant creates their own section of the scarf, adding their photo and customizing the scarf design, before sharing it with their friends through Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter.

Participants automatically enter the draw to win one of eight fashion prize packs, including Net-A-Porter vouchers and soft Merino wool scarves.Merino wool is a unique fibre, loved by fashion and apparel designers for its quality and
versatility. 

The campaign aims to give users a hands on experience with this fibre as they are given the opportunity to design and customise their own personal scarf. The campaign will be run through the ‘We Love Wool’ Facebook page launched by The Woolmark Company in June 2011, which has recently celebrated 100,000 fans! The thriving community provides consumers, retailers and designers alike a touch-point to connect and discuss all things wool.

Cannes Film Festival 2012

 The Cannes film festival 2012 has began and these are just some of the most precious gowns I drooled over.

 Diane Kruger never disappoints and she looks STUNNING in this minty-green Giambattista Valli dress.

Eva Longoria definitely killed it with this Marchesa gown. Everything about her look is just perfect, from the hair to the train on the dress is just amazing!
