At home protein treatment

Hello guys, I hope you're having a wonderful week so far. Since I decided to give my hair a little break from relaxers and heat, I've began experimenting with at home hair treatments just to ensure that i'm in total control of what I put in my hair.
For this protein treatment, I use: mayonnaise, plain yogurt, eggs (just one), coconut oil, and olive oil. Mix them together and voila! My hair is then put into sections and leave the treatment in for about 45minutes (yes, that long!! lol. Just make sure you have some time on your hands for your hair treatment days). Since i'm trying to stay away from heat, I let it air dry after washing the treatment out.
In regards to my hair regimen, I co-wash it (just washing the hair with conditioner and not shampoo) weekly and do this protein treatment once every two weeks. This might be too often for some people but it's just a personal preference. The egg in the treatment mix helps to maintain hair strength while the rest of the ingredients condition and keep the hair soft and smooth.
Also, to prevent dryness and possible breakage, I spritz the ends of my hair with water every night and braid it into a protective style (bantu knots or twisted braids mostly as shown below). My hair moisturizer is also mixed at home and it includes shea butter, castor oil, olive oil, coconut oil, and glycerin.
I hope this answers all the hair questions I've been receiving via email lately.

I do these twists almost every night as a protective style just to secure my ends to prevent any possible breakage and that's how I get my curls in the morning, like in this post and some of the other posts.
If you're on facebook, check out the page here and share it with your friends. Have a wonderful and blessed week, xox.

I love it! I cowash like you did, but I need to try out a protein treatment. Sounds like fun.

Wow, your hair is so shiny! I try to stay away from protein treatments, but this is exactly how i used to do mines. Do you have a relaxer or are you natural?
